The following is a proposal for how BasementArtsProject will operate in the future

Terms and Conditions of a Residency

A Residency would last for 2 months

Post-Residency the Artist will inherit the Gallery space – their exhibition will last for 2 months

 As part of a Residency Artists would be required to

• Supply their own materials for work
• Occupy the space for a minimum of 15hrs a week (12pm – 5pm, Fri – Sun) to allow the Gallery to advertise regular opening hours*
• Keep the previous artists exhibition open to the public during their Residency
• Contribute to an online journal once a week on the gallery’s website
• Contribute one piece of text  and one small scale artwork suitable for being reproduced as part of a publication at the end of the year
• Be aware of visitors to the space during opening hours and look after the current exhibition
• Install their exhibition in the month immediately after their residency finishes. The Exhibition must be ready in time for the opening
• Return the studio / gallery space to its original state at the end of their tenure

*15hrs is a minimum amount of time required to meet the terms of a residency. The studio space is available for use from 8am until 10pm.

Noise levels must be kept low between 8 & 10pm

 Residents will be given a key to the space at the start of the Residency which will be passed onto the next Resident at the end of their tenure

 Gallery Opening Hours

Fri – Sun       12pm – 5pm          Admission FREE

 Studio availability times for Resident Artist

Mon – Sun     8am – 10pm       

(The artist must fulfil the minimum number of hours in the studio to coincide with the gallery’s opening hours. They may however utilise the studio space for as many extra hours as they wish between the hours noted above)
